Anh is a constant source of amusement: he told Spies of his role FOR NO REASON AT ALL - not just in ONE game but TWO and was behind Davoni, arguably the biggest bitch in Spies history. Is he on the list? We shall see. Ready for #12? Angelica – 27 – Coffee Shop Owner Game: Spies 4 Played by: Paul Identity: Spy (Orthodoxy) Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Angelica was the oldest of 5 children belonging to a lower class family. A gifted student, she was at the top of her class through high school. Upon graduating Angelica was accepted to the Harvard Business School, however the scholarships and government grants she received were not enough to cover her entire tuition. With four other children to raise, her parents were unable to help her pay for her college, so Angelica was forced to work multiple jobs to put herself through school. She worked many odd jobs over the years, but her favorite was as a barista at a small coffee shop. She knew she had found her passion. Upon graduating she moved permanently to Cambridge and started up her own coffee shop. Over the years her business has become popular among students and is well known for its quaint atmosphere conducive for studying with weekly performances from local bands and musicians. Paul is the second biggest curmudgeon I have ever met in my life (my youngest brother beats him out, but barely). He loathes basically anything that shows an ounce of genuine enthusiasm or perkiness. His signature moves are fist-shaking and scowling. So imagine my surprise when I found out that the adorable wifey-poo of Gordy was actually Paul himself. Paul sacrificed his dignity to play Angelica, who loved Johnny Depp, got along with Beverly, and agreed to make Cain the family dog. He dived into his new female identity with lines like "I'll just have to work my charm" and "OK!!! I'm a lush!". My counter to Paul, who will claim that he didn't role play as Angelica, is that if he was playing himself, he never would have said or done any of this. The Angelica-Gordy romance was the gift that kept on giving. For example, while discussing game-related manners, every time Gordy got off track, Angelica would smack him: spies4Gordy: iced black coffee is so tasty. Almost like licking Cain's forehead spies4Angelica: *smack* FOCUS! Eventually, Gordy trained himself: spies4Gordy: oh Angiepoo, I love you so <3 spies4Angelica: Oh no, you're not getting off that easy! Something in this isn't adding up, and I need to know. spies4Angelica: *SLAP* spies4Gordy: FOCUS! Paul's ability to run with a joke and stay in character no matter how ridiculous the circumstances made him a standout in Spies 4 and has earned him a spot in my top 12.

Sorry Ryan! Brody – 21 – Fraternity Pledge Master/Student Game: Spies 5 Played by: Ryan Identity: Citizen Brody is a student at Radford University in Virginia, and is originally from Fayetteville, Georgia. He is an active brother of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity. Much like many other college students, he enjoys drinking on a nightly occasion and getting high frequently. He has a bad addiction to smoking cigarettes and has an oral fixation, which leaves him constantly chewing something or grinding his teeth. Brody serves as the Pledge Master of his fraternity and firmly believes in hazing. Every brother of his fraternity must wear the brand once they are initiated, after going through a grueling process - but Brody always goes above and beyond expectations. On his Branding Night, he received two. Whenever he and his brothers have pitcher races, he drinks the whole thing alone. Anyone that tries to chug faster than him is beaten shamefully. Nobody can outperform Brody. Brody feels like college is where he is meant to be. He finds real comfort in being a frat guy and hanging out with his brothers all the time. He gets chicks and never calls them back, because that's just how it's supposed to be. He is patriotic to an extent, but believes much more in his powerful KDR bond than anything else. My feelings on Brosef are mixed. On the one hand, he was an asshole, plain and simple. His character was designed to clash with others, and he definitely clashed with mine. Not exactly fun to talk to. Still, I loved how Brody spoke as a fratboy, how well Ryan conveyed that style and attitude. He didn't let his self-imposed post restriction interfere with his game, but enhanced it. His plans for his character took advantage of the new win condition, and he stated his opinions bluntly in fratboy speak: "Yo u kno wut I dont even care about all this shit but i think caela is innocent and u 2 freakin flipouts arent." Ryan's character was designed to play hard and yield maximum impact. As a citizen, he set the Spies on edge, acting like an arrogant asshat to rattle the cages of his suspects. Most notably, he battled Sophia in the Watch List burg thread and exposed her for the waffling Spy she was. Brody lands at spot #11 on my countdown because I admire that he worked his strategy into his character.

Going back to 2006 for number 10 Julian – 26 – Clerk in a florist's shop Game: Spies 1 Played by: James Identity: Spy Julian was born in Britain and lived in Leeds until the age of nine, when his mother divorced his father. After a bitter custody battle, Julian and his mother moved to Minnesota with his aunt and her American husband. Julian studied hard in school and excelled in track. He earned both academic and athletic scholarships and is Ivy League educated. A month before graduating college, his longtime girlfriend, Iris, informed him that she was pregnant. He immediately bought an engagement ring and was planning to propose to her the night of their college graduation when she informed him that she aborted their unborn child without even consulting him first. Julian left the United States that night and returned to his native England. His father, who he had been corresponding with since entering college, put him up while Julian searched for a flat, which he later discovered over a florist's shop. He now works in that same florist shop under his flat, often dating but never steadily. He dabbles in painting but has nothing of significant value to offer the world. He is, in all, rather directionless and drifting. Julian is ready for a change in his life, and has no idea where to begin with one. One of the first people I talked to on AIM was Julian, a real gentleman. Through coy flirtations, Julian charmed his way into the hearts and minds of influential players. Although he wasn't good at covering up his spy identity, he was well-liked enough to indirectly convince the citizens to lynch him a round later than he should have been. Then the game ended and I found out he was gay! Another loss for womenkind. Spies was my first alias game, and Julian/James taught me that not everyone in Spies is who they claim to be. For this lesson and for sheer likeability, Julian is #10 in the countdown.

Cybering with Gindi? spies1Julian: No, Sam. spies1Monica: Oooo la la spies1Monica: I guess the best way to win this game is to sleep with the Boss spies1Julian: He said if I can do the job in 5 minutes, I get to be an honorary spy

I can't wait until DC gets to Otto. My stunning roleplay and near flawless performance exemplified the plight and psyche of German auto mechanics the world over. A new generation of internet kids were given insight into their world and became better people for it.
Here's but a sample:
spies5Darla: Csn you fic my car? spies5Otto: Yes. spies5Darla: so...get to it spies5Otto: Hand me that wrench, Bitch spies5Donnie: Isn't that a useful tool?

I consider this next one sort of surprising ... Sherri – 36 – Babysitter/MotherGame: Spies 4 Played by: Ross Identity: None (Decoy) Sherri is one of those "cool moms" that frighten children everywhere. Although her heart has been beating for 36 years, Sherri's brain still thinks she's 18. She firmly she believes she is the coolest mom in the world and knows exactly what kids nowadays are into. She has forced the kids she babysits to play pokemon cards with her even though that hasn't been popular for over 8 years. Sherri takes her 7-year-old daughter, Deanna, to the nail salon with her every week on Tuesday. To her daughter's dismay, they both get matching colored nail polish. In past games, players easily identified the decoy, the person doomed to be first imprisoned, because the decoy either never signed online or signed online but didn't talk to anyone. Sherri was the decoy of Spies 4, but this time the part was raised to a new level. Ross, as Sherri, interacted with others with more enthusiasm than some of the real players! She offered freshly baked cupcakes to the cast, chatted about fashion, called players dearie, talked about her daughter Deanna, and discussed video games under the guise of the "annoying Mom who thinks she is in the 'know'". No one really guessed she was the decoy and the Spies kissed her butt hardcore during her three days in the game. Ross even kept up the act in the loser lounge ("Sticks and stones may break my bones but words cannot hurt this drop dead gorgeous body"). Sherri bonded with Martha in a bizarre sisterhood ("Martha, I'm giving you all the rabbits plus ten dozen prison baked cupcakes") and warmly greeted the citizen losers upon their imprisonment/exiling ("Oh Gordy dear! Come and give Momma Sherri a big hug!!!"). And then, of course, there was the memorable "Favorite Moment" story that made everyone, even Elias, tear up: "Mommy, why are you crying? Did somebody do something to you?"
"Oh... it's nothing dearie..." Sherri said as she quickly wiped her mascara tainted tears. The girl sat next to the woman, as they held each other's hand.
"You know Deanna? I met the most wonderful people in the Burg today. There was this beautiful lady named Beverly, she was so loud that she made people love her or hate her..."
Sherri went on, telling her daughter every single detail of the colorful members of the Burg. Deanna was smiling as she attentively listened to her mother's stories.
"And this magician, Zander I think was his name, he finished all my cupcakes! Oh, and we have to go shopping with Bunni dearie! That girl has some style! And oh, lovely Martha... I just find her oddly obsessed with rabbits. She's asking every single person she meets if they have one!" Sherri said as she mimicked the way Martha walked. At this moment they both laughed.
But Sherri couldn't help to let a tear run across her face and her daughter was laughing so hard, she didn't notice.
That was the last night Sherri spent in the Burg. Ross acted as the older and wiser Sherri for the full 60 days of Spies 4, even though he wasn't actually a real player. For throwing himself into a role so unlike his real self, and creating such a memorable character, Momma Sherri steals spot #9 in the countdown.

And then, of course, there was the memorable "Favorite Moment" story that made everyone, even Elias, tear up: What's that supposed to mean :-p I tear up all the time, its not that big of a deal. Of course that doesn't take away from how awesome of a job Ross did with Sherri.

Elias, because your character of Spies 4, Lloyd, was ... uh, how do I put this ... "not so nice". So Lloyd being like "That seriously almost made me cry" was like awwww, Sherri did a great job with that story
